I just stopped cooking 2 meals and they now eat what i make.

Ask them what they would like, then adapt to suit everyone, simple ideas are pesto pasta, mini roast, pizza, spag bol, jackets and fillings, toad in hole, mac and cheese x

Maybe you could meal plan together. Everyone gets their choice on a rota. Allow some tweaks if someone really doesn't like something..also help with the cooking. X

Get a slow cooker!!! Chuck it all in, in the morning and it's ready to eat by the time they come out of school. It does all the hard work for you! Can put anything in a slow cooker, I batch cook with mine, put the leftovers in the fridge and that's tomorrows dinner sorted!

Give yourself a break , they have had cooked dinner, let them have something out the cupboard now an again, mine love home made soup

My fave.:
Chicken legs/drumsticks covered in paprika marjoram, salt pepper, rosemary, cut carrots and whatever veg your kids like, as well as onion and few cloves of garlic, put in a heat proof dish- veg on The bottom, chicken on top, half a glass of water. Deizzle with oil, chuk in The oven 180*c for an hour and 20 min.

I hate tea times no one wants the same so several different meals, endless washing up. I rarely eat what I want coz can't bare to cook another meal separately. Also three evenings of sports training for the kids. Sorry no ideas but yes I feel your pain its not easy x

@squiggley thankyou, I’m glad I’m not the only one, it’s harder aswell being on your own as at least if you had a partner it would be shared cooking or worth it. Just for me I don’t bother, tonight I’ve had a kit Kat haha x

Mine love
Toasties - bean/cheese etc
Cheap noodles from Aldi to make noodle buttys- don’t judge 😂
Picnic teas -lots of fruit n veg /bits n bobs
Wraps
Home made pizzas on ciabatta etc
Aldi do “mc Donald’s “ nuggets they go down well with fries veg/beans
Sunday roast

Mate just make it easy, pasta , nuggets, party tea, chuck in some veggies where you can.. toasties, sandwiches, wraps and crisps. Who cares as long as they eat, honestly the more you worry the harder it gets. I don't mind cooking most of the time but some times it destroys my soul so I just don't overthink it xx

What do they eat at school that they like? If anything like my kids you can’t go wrong with pasta, pizza, pies, curry, quiche, nuggets all really easy to do. If you have space in the freezer, batch cook a huge bolognese sauce, literally 5 cheap ingredients (pork mince is way cheaper than beef and less fat, chopped tomatoes, onions, garlic, herbs) and then freeze portions you can quickly defrost and add to cheap pasta.

i usually have tacos / wraps at home. i marinate and cook some chicken and then the kids can choose how they want it. ie taco, fajita, salad, toasties, etc.
