Struggling as an Introvert: Anyone Else Feeling Lonely and Finding It Hard to Make Friends?

@johnanon he works and the times he gets back are ridiculous 🙄 and sometimes he works away. By time he's home it's night time and I'm ready for bed to start the day again at 6am

I’m quite introverted and since I left work to work at home it’s hard to make friends. I’m lucky I have 4 sisters that I can have a conversation with when needed. Tried book clubs and such but it’s hard. My sisters are a 2 hour drive away.

@marc16 ah I'm based in the south east and if we were closer I would've been happy to meet up. There's lots of tips from others I would definitely recommend. Keep smiling.

@marc16 I live near Doncaster 🥰 Please feel free to drop me a message if you would like too for a chat. It’s so exhausting being an introvert I know how you feel 🫶🏼

I find it very hard to make proper connections so you are not alone. I try to come across as friendly but often find only a few people actually take the time to chat back these days in the playground, park etc. Not sure if we are mentally too busy to entertain others at times or if the art of conversation is dying out. Perhaps try a class that is of interest to you, not your kids or your husband so you can meet people with similar interest. It won't be long before all the seasonal classes like wreath making are being advertised you could try something like that to ensure you get adult conversation that isn't based on comparing how well or not your kids have behaved etc.
Wish you all the luck in the world, being an adult isn't easy. X

Join a choir near you. Honestly the best thing I ever did (13 years ago) Did wonders for my confidence and have made life-long friends.
Plus singing is so good for your mental health. Nice to have something where you can just be you. Not wife and Mumma for a bit. ❤️
