Best School Bags for Dyspraxia with Multiple Compartments

All my kids have asd, adhd, spd, and a multitude of other diversities, colour coding is by far the best, however that does rely on them also trying to remember what colour belongs to which subject. They use a colour coded timetable and the school is also colour coded in blocks per subject so actually it is all consistent. Parents also have access to their timetables so a gentle reminder helps too.
I think they begin to develop their own methods of (dis) organisation that works for them with a gentle guidance from us 🤗

My child is just finishing year 7 and honestly she literally puts everything in her blazer pockets, I’ve never seen a school book xx

My daughter had colour coded folders which helped her and we have her timetable on the whiteboard in the kitchen so she can look at it each morning and pack in her bag the relevant books

We had oversized folders with the names of each subject written in Sharpie on the front. If you have a look at Mountain Warehouse as well they have a really good range of backpacks which may have one in there that helps.
Also speak to school. If they have a learning support department they may also be able to help with storage each day.

Top tip from me as a dyspraxic mum to a dyspraxic son😂 The Blazer Buddy pencil case is a godsend. Fits all the vital bits in and helps stop pens leaking onto shirts etc.
My son also has a couple of other pencil cases in his bag with things like coloured pencils in but also duplicate pens, pencils ruler etc so at least he has a chance of finding what he needs somewhere.

Check with the school whether he will have books. My year 7 has only brought the odd book home now and then for homework. No folders to carry, homework is all online. I bought him a nice pencil case and he keeps everything in his blazer pockets!!

My son has a clear plastic poppered folder for each subject and they are clearly labeled. This seems to work well for him. Xx

I bought my son a Nike bag with lots of compartments in it as he struggles with organising himself but most of the time his bag is as empty as it was in the morning. They don’t bring books home, homework is online, only thing he takes is his PE kit and trainers. He keeps his pens in his pocket of his blazer, his homework planner inside his actual blazer.
