Best School Bags for Dyspraxia with Multiple Compartments

Tuff folders are brilliant, they are like heavy duty zippy bags. I bought them for my son when he went into S1 and they’re still going strong in S6. He has one for each subject. Everything is stored in his school bag. An under armour rucksack.

I found my daughter benefitted from a box at home with laminated days of the week dividers to put each days books into so could take correct books in her bag each day. Laminate a timetable at the front. Also one of the loopy key holders for the locker key sewn into the blazer pocket so can’t lose the key. Still name everything as well !!! Hope that helps.

@kuchen thanks for the tips! That’s amazing I never would have thought of sewing the locker key in, what a great idea 😊
A box at home is definitely happening!

I did seperate book bags well labelled - we’re only allowed laptop bag plus books for that class no back pack as that stays in locker with each of his “subject bags”

@extrinsic do they need to return to their locker between lessons then? My son would really struggle with this - but your suggestion to overcome it is amazing so I’ll be using it if that’s the case! Thank you 😊

Hey just 2 ideas from Amazon the first is £35 the second is £16. I hope this helps somehow 😊 x

You'll want to put books inside plastic wallets anyway or they will get wet on rainy days, so you could colour code for each lesson, perhaps period one is red, period two green etc then he knows oh I it's period two I need the green folder out

My daughter has different folders for different subjects. They’re strong reinforced plastic zip up ones. The teachers suggested them when she started year 7, she’s going into year 9 in September and still using them.

Thanks everyone for the brilliant suggestions and it’s reassuring to see that we aren’t alone with our struggles. I’m loving the ideas and also the ideas for home, which I hadn’t even thought of yet! Very much appreciated!

I bought my daughter the button wallets. Then use a sharpie and write the name of each lesson on. I bought them because her drink continously explodes on her bag but its actually kept her really organised. She's year 10 in September so worked well so far
