Batch Cooking for School Lunches: How Prepping in Advance Makes Mornings a Breeze

Wow, you are so organised!
Dd doesn’t eat proper packed lunches so it’s easy to put hers together every morning but I do batch make malt loaf for hubby and some healthy brownies that daughter and hubby both take as a treat.

I prep what I can the night before & make a fresh sandwich/wrap etc in the morning, chop fruit or whatever is needed, takes about 5 mins, must be about the same amount of time as getting the stuff out of the freezer.

Just try to vary what they get each day so it’s not too boring. I Don’t batch cook. Sometimes it’s left over pizza from the night before 🤣 sometimes a salad with the left over roast chicken from Sunday lunch. We just go with the flow x

I've never frozen a sandwich, would it not be soggy defrosting in a airtight lunch box? Where does the ice go? How does the quiche pastry not go soggy too? Tempted to try it & see 😁

I often save a bit of dinner and heat it in microwave while we have Brekky then pop it in a flask so my son has hot lunch.
My other favourite is to make a batch of sushi rolls.
Half for afternoon tea then the rest for lunch the next day.
OP you are so lucky your kids will eat a lot of the same.
Mine is fussy and wants variety!!!!
One day a week we can order from school canteen but usually their dairy free options don't work or there's something else that puts my son off.

I use to buy the barms from asda the big bag wat u could freeze make all different ones up and freeze to last till got paid just get wat he wanted out

I am really surprised at the people that don't freeze bread although it clearly says you can on the packaging .
People eat convenience frozen meals, in fact meals that I wouldn't dream of freezing. However, bread freezes really well and isn't soggy.
I also think maybe it's how close you live to a shop, I live in a rural area and my nearest supermarket is eight miles away, so I only shop weekly, so getting fresh bread is not an option. I freeze bread, rolls, french baton and if you put them in the oven to crisp up you wouldn't know it wasn't fresh.
