My daughter has dyspraxia she in year 10 now she uses just a normal bag n manages but like I say she Yr 10 now so is used to it she still forgets or loses things sometimes you can find back packs with multiple pockets my middle daughter does and got it off ebay
@rocketbear I havnt actually not locally I'd love to find some as I've no idea about it I'd never heard of it till my daughter was diagnosed Xmas before last she has sleep issues to so has medication for that aswell it's hard work lol
My son favours the lug everything everyday strategy. The benefits are that he's got a lot stronger through the year.
That was my strategy too but he won't engage with alternative suggestions.
If we don't empty it at the end of the year, we'll be in danger of creating a new black hole
I was worried about how he'd manage, and he's coped far better than I hoped. He still has all his stationery too... he's ruthless about zero lending and his austitic traits are overriding the dyspraxic. He is shattered for 2 hours at the end of each day though.
My son is just finishing year 8 and I got him the zip folders 1 for each subject they are great as it means his subjects stay organised and nothing goes astray. Pieces of work remain neat and tidy rather than just getting shoved into a schoolbag, however u will need a good sized school bag to fit the folders in (only carries subject required each day) but probably do add weight rather than just popper pocket folders. I find the popper ones break and don't last long he uses a few of these for the lighter subjects were he only has slim booklets. The folders make it so much easier to pack his school bag each evening as we have written the subject on the folder and he can just grab what he needs knowing all books will be in that one folder for the timetabled subject.
My daughter has this laptop bag from Amazon. The back compartment is where she puts her books. The main middle one is where she puts her pe kit and lunch. The front one is where she keeps her headphones etc and the little zipped one, she keeps her toilet pass etc x
Mine hardly bring books home as most work is done on the Chromebooks. They bring home their art books when they have art homework and an English booklet once a week, that’s about it. They are in year 9 & year 7.
I'm son has dyspraxia and is just moved to s5 he uses a differnt folder for each subject. For books he puts them in 1 with a popper. He has managed this way.
