Batch Cooking for School Lunches: How Prepping in Advance Makes Mornings a Breeze

I think this is fab. Thanks for sharing. I am more of a run round like a headless chicken making sure I haven't forgotten anything. Only to leave a school bag at home etc. 🤣🙈

Aaah memories (and not good ones) of the terms worth of frozen sandwiches I "enjoyed" through my school years. Even better in the winter when they've not *quite* defrosted before lunch.
I bought food flasks, and make larger dinners and freeze in suitable portions (if they don't want it the next day), then they get an easy hot lunch in no time.

Nothing. I leave it all to the night before just so I can do a bit more rushing around 😂. Never make lunches the night before though. Thats done in the morning.

@eyeman I actually used to like chicken paste sandwiches when I was a kid 😂 no idea the time saved on freezing paste sandwiches I mean it’s in a jar how time consuming can it be ??😂😂😂🥴

@eyeman I had frozen sandwiches with meat paste too. I mentioned it to my parents recently and they looked puzzled, then said 'oh, the paté' 🤣! They were sometimes still frozen at lunch...

We do ham and onion (they are mine) and my husband does chicken buns (cooks a full chicken and dependable on size gets at least.a.week.sometimes more and freezes them. Take them out night before. Don't go soggy. I put salad cream on my ham and onion buns.after they have defrosted

My 11yr old has started making her own lunch this year, she gets dressed has breakfast, finishes getting ready and packs her own lunch, although she will ask me to make her sandwich or wrap xx

I really thought this was going to end with “and within an hour, the family had eaten the lot. Why do I bother?!” Just me then 🤔
