How to Begin Decluttering Your Home: Tips for Keeping Things Organized

I have a rule, if we have not used it for a year, (some items 2 years) we don’t need it! & I donate it. We are a family of 6, so we need to be ruthless & not keep clutter! Look at anything you use & ask yourself if you use it with 1 year or 2, keep it. Other than that donate it.

Start on one room at a time. Get some packing boxes and empty as much, bar furniture, of it into the boxes, then as you are going round clean everywhere. Once you have done that sort through each box and be strict. If you haven't touched or used it in 6 months or more then charity or chuck it out. Once you have stuff whittled down you can decide on what goes back out in that room. If the stuff left belongs in another room keep it in box until that room is ready for it. If you start with the least cluttered room and work round to worst it won't hopefully feel too overwhelming!

You really need to be ruthless. Our house has so little clutter because i hate it.
Do a room at a time. Clothes are normally a big one - i ggave birth thurs so just waiting to slim down so i can chuck out a tonne of stuff. My baby doesnt fit in tiny baby so thats up for sale etc. As soon as we dont need it or its broken its gone.
We also have a free site in our local community and I give away a lot on there. People will pick up anything for free so try that too.

Kitchen first, if not needed bits are too good for the bin & would bring you less than 5/10 quid to sell take it to charity shop asap👍🏻

I am the same and it has helped me to give to charity. They send me an email to tell me how much my things have made to help. Makes me feel better about not hoarding the stuff. Also people have said selling the stuff to then use on the house 😊

One drawer at a time. Anything that costs £20 or less and you haven’t used in a year can go!
Wardrobes - close your eyes - think of your top 10 favourite clothing items - take them out of the wardrobe - open your eyes - choose 10 more - the rest can go to charity!
I love a minimalistic wardrobe - it saves so much time! Having a wardrobe that you love is such a beautiful feeling!
You can do this! Xx
