Advice on Belly Button Piercing for My Daughter: Healing, Care, and Scarring Concerns

I had mine done years ago and it’s now closed after pregnancies-not much in way of scarring- my daughter 15 has hers done- caveat I feel it’s a little crooked as unlike an ear muscles tense and can effect situation of it. But I have no regrets for mine or my daughters. Pic is my closed piercing. No idea why it’s upside down 🙈

Not something I have experience of, but is it one of those things that is worth waiting for the summer holidays to do when she doesn't have the risk of pe and getting changed in and out of pe kit at school etc?

I had mine done when I was about 15 or 16. I never had any issues with it. No infections and it never got caught on my clothing. I took it out when I was pregnant with my first daughter and then put it back in the following year without any issues. I eventually took it out when I was about 34 because it started to grow out. The piece of skin in front of the piercing became very thin, so it could have been easily ripped out if I caught it on something. The scar is so small you wouldn't even notice it.

My daughters was fine until lately she had hers done when she was 13 but she was made to take it out for p.e and then we couldn’t get it back in we tried but where she wears trousers round her belly button it’s got 2 small lumps as it reacted as though it was a splinter so we’re having to put cream on and then once those heel we can go back and have it re done but other than that it’s been absolutely fine I’ve told her not to take it out for p.e again

I had mine done as a teen, passed out from it 😅 Kept it clean and wearing jeans wasn’t an issue. Took it out years ago though and never bothered with wanting it back in, left with two small scars now.

I have had mine done for a year or so now and it was easy to clean and healed fully a bit after a year passed.
It's easy to get caught but I usually try to avoid things that reach the belly or at least go over it.
I've had a few swollen lumps on it but it went away on its own.
Just don't move it around like ive been doing and don't pick at it like I did.

I had mine done at 16, it rejected. I then pierced it myself at 19. Recently had it out for a few months, but a bar went straight back in 12 years of this one.

I had my first one at 14, then I had the bottom done, then the side. 4 kids and several operations later and its all a mess and I have no piercing in now 😢 do I regret getting 3?? Nope! I'd do it again if I had a belly button!!

My daughters had hers done for over. Year now no problems at all. Make sure keep it clean 1st few weeks. No cheap bars in it. All been fine. X

I had my done 10 years ago
No infection but took months to heal properly and still hurts when wearing high waisted jeans

I had mine done at 18 , I'm almost 38 and I've had no issues. I even kept it in while pregnant. I use salt water to clean it and change the bar often. I've never had it caught. I've never had infections. Even though nobody can see it ( body confidence is low ) I love having it

I had mine done wen I was 17 and I'm now 46, never been infected or had any problems with it at all other than it can get a bit sore with some jeans if the are particularly hard and the button sits right on it.

Over 24yrs never an issue. Was redone 2wice due to pregnancy and belly button coming rite out otherwise it wudnt have needed redone.

You let her have it done, you didn't say her age, you deal with the consequences, the pain, the moaning it hurts it rubs etc. Say NO, your the adult. Wait till she's 18. All her problem then
