Weekend Evening Activities for Families: What Works for You?

We do hot tub, treat tea and movie night every Friday. Saturday we usually just chill, eldest might stay up late and watch TV with us but pur five years old twins are usually in bed for 7.30. Ours are 5,5 and 8 so feel like when our day time is busy it's fine to do little in the evening as they are tired and so are we!

Relax! Slightly alters depending on the season.
Currently The kids usually stay up late, we watch movies - eat treats etc… but after all the whatever’s we’ve done that day (work and play) we are usually all ready to relax.
In the summer we often have a fire in the garden, toast marshmallows etc.. sometimes a movie on the screen in the garden, Often a bbq or pizza oven.
Just time to relax together, whilst swapping the loads of washing, nice baths, Ironing, family walk etc…

In winter/colder nights we go out on scooters/bike rides, movie nights, draw with Rob, painting, board game night, go for a drive in the car to get donuts/treats, movie in the boot of the car and watch the sun set, basically anything we can think of we do, sometimes we take them to do pool/snooker for £1 a turn as they love it, watching the stars if dry enough, sometimes we play random things like blind man buff in the dark, hide and seek, nerf fight, den building, walk on the beach/ family quiz, Sometimes we do nothing at all as we are all shattered and want quiet

We don't tend to do anything on most weekends either. The kids are older, the 15 year old makes his own plans, the younger one prefers solitude 😄. I don't stress about always doing things, we did something every weekend/every school holiday with them for a decade but we've realised the value of doing nothing.

Yesterday we played family monopoly and tonight a few games of bingo nothing too imposing but passes and hour or two together and they go off to do there own thing or we sit to watch a show or movie if no ones in the mood it's fine we all need are own time and space to ourselfs

In the summer we head to the beach. Make the most of it always. In the darker night we do crafts, movies , food. Always plan something the kids may be like can we get the paints out, or can we do some baking etc. life is so busy with clubs on other days , and with them being between two houses - we never stop as always make the most of the time we have. Not for everyone but we enjoy it 🙂
