Weekend Evening Activities for Families: What Works for You?

We just to love going to the social club with our parents, always met other kids at the Xmas parties. Nothing really for us to do now though , once a month the community centre has a themed evening or many kids go though.

Friday night is movie night in our house so pjs on then a film and snacks. Kids can stay up late.
Saturday night is usually tv quizzes, this time of year strictly and again kids stay up later and put pjs on. We enjoy the chill out time together, my kids need it after a week at school and we need it from work too 😆
Occasionally we may have a night out or the kids have something on but that’s not regular.

When I lived at home. I was one of 3 kids. Every week on a Saturday one of us would cook for the family ( you could also do this once a month) i think I was given a budget and made either starter & main or main & pudding. I used to make a wicked cheese soufflé!

Friday nights I sometimes take our youngest roller skating or I might be out with friends. Saturday nights we sometimes see friends or have family evenings.

Friday night my son has football and daughter has youth club. Saturday night we do games night at home or movie with hot chocolate and snacks 😊

Just relax- my 9yo begged me to go home early today on our walk around the marina and beach. My 11yo was happy to go with flow, but we got them out for a few miles of beach walking and few drinks and lunch, ice creams. They don’t need stuff just to me as a family. I’ve learnt that over the years thinking I need to constantly have them entertained-sometimes a day at home and a walk out is enough xxx

We sometimes have movie night overthe weekend where they get to stay up late but to be honest we don't ever go out anywhere. There is no where that isn't a pub or bowling and we like to chill out at home in our pjs of an evening lol

Party in the kitchen... all get dressed up, drink of choice in a "party glass" (ie not s glass you use day to day), dancing, party games/competition and nicer (but easy) dinner than the rest of the week
