We try to stick to weekday clubs so that weekends are for family time… we’re a member of a local trades and labour club, so often pop in on a Friday for a beer or two.. kids take drawing, cards, tablets and see their friends there too.. sometimes all the parents get them a McDonald’s so they can all eat a dinner together..
Saturdays and Sundays often consist of a kids party, but otherwise we are usually up and out for a dog walk, cinema trips, crafting and then possibly dinner out somewhere in the evening. Or we might have movie night and a takeaway. Sundays again are wooded walks or an afternoon swim.
Some weekends my husband will take them to the cinema or soft play when I’ve got morning photoshoots, or I’ll get finished early enough that we can all go together. We’re really lucky that our local cinema is £4.50 a ticket so it’s always a cheaper few hours out!
Unfortunately it isn’t cheap to do trips out now, but we do love doing things like the gruffalo or superworm trails that are free (except maybe a bit of petrol / parking money), or just getting out in the fresh air, splashing in puddles!
