Weekend Evening Activities for Families: What Works for You?

Nothing I can think of near us, would be amazing if there was. I either go over to my mum's or mils or stay home and have a movie night.

Swimming, cinema, arcades, a nice toby carvery lunch, the parks are absolutley free I guess I am lucky I live near a kids fun house soft play well 2, a huge forest and park swimming local allots local x

We have a lot of Social clubs that our events on (we don’t go)but I see them advertised a lot.
My boys do gymnastics/parkour Saturday mornings and football Sundays
We go out for walks in the woods beach trips walk around town partner and one son enjoy photography cinema as not too expensive if you take your own treats
Xxx

@jtoddowen this was a big mistake I made we were out doing something every weekend whole weekend spending a fortune and eating out now older softplay or adventure parks don't quite cut it even bowling cinema go karts safari parks zoos etc they are looking for something different so when they don't have their friends to entertain them they really don't know how to entertain themselves everything we suggest they do is boring also funny ages where they don't actually like each other either so what 1 wants to do the other doesn't we defo made a rod for our own backs always running our weekends around them and only them

Lego Club at the local library every Friday after school, swimming and eating out Saturday, whatever Sunday brings (swim gala, play parks dependent on weather, see friends). In between, nothing. Children don't have to be stimulated/entertained all the time, imo.

My kid is so exhausted from school + the four additional clubs and activities that she does across the week, that we don’t make big weekend evening plans; usually she’s happy with takeaway / treat tea and staying up later to watch films or whatever, and to be honest so are we because we’re exhausted from working and coordinating all of that for her.

Me and my best friend alternate weekends to go each others house for food . (So one fri night were there then the week after they all come here ) . On a sat we either go visit family or stay on and play board games or do a bonfire . Sometimes we just all do our own thing

We tend to have movie nights or at least once a month we go to friend’s with the kids. We have a few drinks and the kids play. Normally stick some music on and everyone has a dance.

With things rising etc we don't tend to.. 16 Yr old does his own thing where me and my 6 Yr old will spend the day downstairs watching films etc..
Since our grandad passed away we don't tend to go out at weekends now as that was our thing

Skate park in Portsmouth it’s fab for kids £5 for three hours indoors you can scoot skateboard roller skate or bmx! On weekend it’s £10 each! On sat eve roller disco that all the family can try! It’s call pit street !

Not sure how many children you have but I know I can’t afford £50 each weekend for no occasion 😅 Normally a walk with a poss sweet treat at the end or family movie night.

We normally go to the cinema on Friday nights and go to a board games club on Saturday nights. Sometimes we go bowling. But it never costs more than £15 a night where I live, certainly not £50! Kids go to youth club weekend daytimes or to see their grandparents.

Not there yet I think as got ages 8,6,3,1 so they’re usually falling asleep by 7pm! The older two have sleepovers and gaming nights on Friday!
But they are busy with clubs til 6pm every other school night. So they aren’t coming home asking to go out again yet
