Makeup Advice for Fair-Skinned Teens: Contour Recommendations?

I took my 13 year old to boots, we have to be extremely careful on what we use as she gets chemical burns from some 😞 Boots were amazing in finding her soft and gentle make up she could use x

Get a colour match done in boots, they do different ones, no7, Esther Lauder, max factor. Once you know the shade then you can buy what she needs, in terms of contour, you want something 1-2 levels darker than the foundation, I always go for 1 shade darker as you can build.
If you don't fancy going to boots to get the colour match, use the testers in shops by matching to the jaw line, don't try to match to her hand as naturally your face tends to be slightly darker and has different pigments than the hands due to weather. Get her a good moisturising primer from under her foundation and makesure she knows how to properly remove it, plenty good cleansing products on the market these days, try to avoid things that contain alcohol as it dehydrates the skin xx

Further to this, I would recommend a BB or CC cream rather than a foundation, BB creams give just as much coverage as foundation, they blur pores, add moisture and contain SPF which is a must x

For contour your best bet is to use one to two shades darker than your actual concealer so it's not in your face thick dark lines and becomes much easier to blend.. a normal concealer can be used as highlight to counteract the contour then obviously apply blush, highlight, etc as needed

you can get a 'Hoola Bronzer Lite' which is for fairer complexions however is quite expensive. i'm sure revolution would be just as good, their one is called 'Glow Splendour Bronzer Fair'

I don't know shade-wise but I'd probably be the same shade as her and I used the Rimmel-London 3 in 1 sculpting blush/contour/highlight palette with my first lot of makeup .

My girls are becoming jnterested in skin care and make up and I contacted some local makeup artists and have booked them in with one after Christmas who will go through skincare and choose and applying the correct makeup ect, only cost £25 each snd they get nibbles and a goodie bag to take away, nanan got it them for a Christmas gift, may be worth asking about locally xxx

@godismyjoy exactly what I've done, booked my two in, told my friend and she's booked her two in too (all twins, all best friends) going to make a day of it and take them into town after to shop for makeup 💕

Wow that’s awful you’ve had to add that edit. I dont wear makeup as a rule - can’t be bothered but I do use a tinted moisturiser.

It’s a bit ££ but Haus Labs do a white foundation shade that you can mix into other shades to bring the colour down so she can adjust to her own skin tone. Contour-wise, how about looking at darker shade foundation sticks or powders? Fenty do a good range of shades that are reasonably priced.

My daughter is 12 and she uses revolution make up. Her dad hates that she wears it but I've explained same as you she needs to experiment and learn what works for her. I dont really wear make up but she loves it and often sits in her room trying out different looks xx
