@newchristianglenn you are spot on The UK is now full of people that don't celebrate others wins and can't be happy for others. People aren't allowed to do something/have something if they can't. It's a joke x
My daughter went as Elsa from frozen, a costume from 2 years ago that a grandparent had bought her , it still fit! She was happy going off to nursery as a princess!
My son's school was fab on world book Day! They were allowed to dress up, they could wear whatever they wanted.
So we ransacked the dressing up box, one went as a fox and the other as the red power ranger
As a parent my child left school before they even thought of world book day and as a teacher I preferred my children to HAVE and READ books rather than parents playing the "I am a better parent than you game".
My little one's school said, they'd considered the cost of living crisis and turned it into pyjamas day. With children bringing in their favourite bedtime atory book and books they no longer read for a book exchange.
My kids school is brilliant, they said the kids can dress up or just come in pjs. Which my two did. I don't have the energy to make costumes or the money to buy them. But seeing everyone's unique designs made me happy
I sometimes go all out and spend days sewing bits on, other times I buy one. The costume that got him in the newsletter was when I dressed him in cheap orange clothes from Amazon and put a squid hat on him haha. Itโs ok to do any, either or none. But I do feel bad for the parents who really canโt afford it, because those kids will feel left out.
Thank you for recognising that not very one is arty lol, Iโm so glad that when my kids where at school, over 20 years ago, that we didnโt have all this extra pressure on us hard working parents. Who donโt have the money, time or skill
