VR Headset Recommendations for 8-Year-Old

Oculus is a good option plus the battery doesn't last that long for there to be any issues getting them off it. Easy to use, easy to download games and can use an app from your phone. X

Following as my daughter is saving for one, she's been saving her birthday and Christmas money, getting her one for Christmas

Both my two have an occulus, we have a PSVR (old) and the occulus is way better. Different games. Gives them a workout 🤣🤣
But you need space . . . Dodging Jackie chan walking through the middle room each day 😂

They arnt recommended for under 13. As their eyes are still developing. It will cause damage to the eyes. It's so close to them. Even adults they say 45 minutes a time.

Apologies for jumping on this chat but also does anyone know anything (positive or otherwise) about the HeroMask kids' VR headsets for Maths or Languages???

My son has the first oculus. We’ve just purchased the 3 as he likes it but before all the Karen’s pop up he’s in it twice three times a week for about a hour or two. 🙄

I'd recommend the meta quest 2/oculus 2. Will be a little cheaper as the 3rd has just come out. We have 2 (one each for my bigger kids) and they love it!

Meta Quest 2 (previously known at Oculus Quest) is definitely the place to start. One of the cheapest stand alone VRs. Can monitor activity on the phone app. I wouldn't go for the Quest 3 just yet as you don't know how your child will react to one. There's risk of motion sickness and beware of "VR Fog" which can make you feel a bit funny after you take the headset off. Takes some time to get used to. We got one a couple of years ago and honestly we've got our money worth, someone is always using it.
