Tips for First-Time Cat Owners: Keeping Kittens Away from Christmas Trees

Our cat Remy has claimed it as his new sleeping spot - it's his tree now 😂 he toppled it the other day and now I have it tied to the radiator 🙈

First off, she is a beauty 😍
My cats also prefer feather toys too 😂
I have a 3 year old cat who the 1st year destroyed the tree.
Since then I've weighed my tree down with bags off coppers and hidden that with a box tree skirt. So far so good the past 2 years. I also have the elf sitting on a spray bottle guarding the tree 😂 (I have never actually spray the cats).
This year however I have a spicey black kitten who thinks it's funny to climb to blinds so I'm hoping my tree trick works this year

My boy doesn't bother with the actual tree but loves hiding under it. Got a tree skirt this year and he was in his glory ❤

I tell the 3 of mine off and if they are persistent then I give them a quick spray of water 🤷🏼‍♀️ I also don't have decorations on the bottom 2 rows of branches

Get some sample carpet squares and put the on the wall and rub cat nip in them every now and again and they will use that instead of furniture, mine did , I used double sided sticky tape on floor around my tree aswell they wouldn’t cross it lol , I don’t have to use it anymore they don’t bother with it x

We’ve had our boy 4 weeks now and every time he has gone to scratch something we have told him no and moved him away, he’s been really good and using his scratch matts and post and we praise him lots when ever he does xx

Wish I knew.....my leather 3 piece suite is going to sofa heaven on Thursday only to be replaced on Friday.....worried sick that my "little darlings" will do it all over again.... I've tried sprays, feliway, etc the only thing that worked was that sticky stuff that you stick on but I really don't want to have to....ugghh nightmare
