Concerned About Marketplace Scammer – Gave Address to Potential Buyer Who Now Seems to Have Blocked Me

@dadman I've had a few of those too but it's been on things like childrens tights they asked for pics of them on.Safe to say they got a mouthful.Right weirdos on here sometimes

I wouldn't be too concerned, it's most likely she wanted it then didn't have the transport, couldn't collect and felt embarrassed but rather than just being honest she blocked you in case you got funny with her. I've not been blocked but I've had loads of people not turn up when they said they would. It was free too so lots of people jump at things and then realise they can't actually collect the item.

I had this kind of thing happen to me for a child bike! The guy was due to turn up and collect between 5-6pm… he didn’t knocked at my door at 11pm ( I didn’t answer) then came back at 1.30am sat outside in his car blaring music constantly messaging to collect!!
I politely messaged to say it was unacceptable to just turn up when he felt like it!
🤦🏼‍♀️

Hi, she’s likely just a no show whose embarrassed! Makes a change she bothers to block.
Selling things is always a wild ride. I tried to sell a freezer and had a man want me to photograph him in it! Try not to worry, if they wanted someone for an address for something bad there’s far easier ways. I’ve had so many no shows over the years and everything’s been ok. It does make me think how many people have my address but equally my address is on Google too!

I've had so many time wasters especially when giving stuff away for free, I don't understand it. I honestly wouldn't worry about it, obviously changed her mind & thought easier to block you than explain.

A few years ago I was selling a dining table and 6 chairs. Some guy said he wanted it and asked me to take it all apart completely, including the chairs and that he would be here in about half hour. I rushed about like an idiot with a 1 year old in tow, stacked it all in the hallway in the way...and he didn't turn up 😑😅

It's always the free stuff gets the unreliable people out, sadly! Better off putting it up for a fiver, avoids so much hassle

It’s probs she didn’t want to let you down. She probs realised after you have given her your address she’s realised your to far away and it’s not worth the travel xxx

I wouldn't worry personally. There are a lot of unreliable /strange people around. I arranged to pick an item up today, finally found the place with my little girl in tow and she wasn't in! Wouldn't reply to any of my messages either.
