Concerned About Marketplace Scammer – Gave Address to Potential Buyer Who Now Seems to Have Blocked Me

Always just give postcode and when they arrive you go outside and give item! I never give full address

Instead of being honest and saying changed mind blocking / removing and not turning up is often someone’s way of changing there mind. Stupid but normally what happens x

I was selling maternity wear and a bloke messaged asking if I could try it on for him if he come to collect!!!… wtf freak blocked… I stopped selling then and jus charity drop now

No need to worry. Ppl don't communicate anymore so they block as they don't have the guts to say changed mind so easier to block u as think will get backlash from it. Your info is safe. If ppl want to find u n house etc the Internet is a big bad world. Think this is just someone who never had balls to message so hid behind social media. Don't worry.

This annoys me so much! I only ever give out my postcode and they get my house number when they're on their way.
I also don't hold items anymore. If someone messages me wanting to collect tomorrow thats fine, but if I get another message from someone wanting to collect straight away they get it. I've held items for people before for them not to turn up so I just don't bother anymore!

I sell a lot of stuff on marketplace, this has happened to me loads of times before. Happens when people change their mind about wanting stuff and they can't be bothered to let you know anymore so they block you.

There is no need to worry about name and address as anyone could find that regardless through the electoral roll. It is not deemed sensitive information. She is just a time waster and hasn’t the decency to say she’s not coming. I personally use a local freebay site if I’m gifting items you tend to get lots of requests so I offer it to the first if they don’t turn up I then say to the second , I’ve never had a problem

@aplle7 I am approached all the time re items for sale and despite clearly stating in my post the location, once I confirm the address in a message they respond too far!!
People don’t read messages properly and definitely don’t use common sense !!

I have this all the time. People not bothering to show after you give your address. If they want to break in, they can have a conversation when they do with 2 big dogs!
