Best Housework Tips & Self-Care Secrets!

Music helps , I have to zone out and I have very long baths where I watch comedy news or sit scrolling empowering videos for a while. I had 4/5 year’s intensive mothering and I feel your struggle. For me the washing is strenuous , but washing up cooking etc has to be with music or I would lose my mind x

My best tip was given to me when I worked in a hotel age 18, ‘never go in our out of the restaurant without something in your hands’ this was to save our feet .. so I now use this around the house going from room to room or upstairs etc . Helps a lot with the washing or general tidying x

My mum's always done things as she's gone along. Washing up bowl full of hot soapy water at the beginning of cooking until she had a dishwasher and she'd wash up as she went. If we used stuff we'd be called to put it away or in the bin (wrappers) before carrying on

I struggle as I work lots and have to do courses as well as keep on top of housework. Not sure what the answer is. My son does some chores as does my husband. I try to fit in housework on days off.

I have a daily list of jobs I try and get done to keep on top of things. My girls are older and go to school so it’s a lot easier to get it done I do work but only midday for an hour. I was getting overwhelmed so I’ve done a manageable list to do each day x

I do cleaning for a living so when it comes to cleaning my own home I really can't be assed I just do bits as an when. Beds bathroom always gets done once a week at the weekend, then hoover etc as and when you can or needs doing. Lucky have a dishwasher so never any washing up laying around x

I find lowering standards with each child helps hugely.
Seriously though as long as the children are safe, clean and well fed that is what matters right now, your mental health is the most important of all, take whatever short breaks you need and don’t allow anyone shame you for taking that time.
Talk to your health visitor about how you are feeling too, they can offer or refer to help you find you while knee deep in parenting xxx

I strongly believe it is all a matter of how much stuff you've got. As Marla Ceily puts it: "You can't organize clutter". If you only have things you really use, cleaning is not a problem.
