A Mum's Worst Nightmare on the Tube: Lost Child and Grateful Thanks

My worst fear… remember taking my three to london when they were younger and got off two were in one hand the other was in the other hand and then loads of people pushed on and then next thing all I see was him looking between some guys legs but he still had hold of my coat and then the doors was shutting all I remember doing was scream “jiiiiiiiim” so loud to my other half he put his arm in the door and ripped it open and pulled him out… I dread going ever since 🤦🏼‍♀️

@beautyinsteadofashes Honest to god I felt your pain as if he was my own. All I can say is thank god it happened to the right kid, you know what I mean don’t Yeh ? The joy of seeing him walking down those stairs was actually overwhelming 😮‍💨

I'm sorry but at some point it has to happen 🤣 I laugh now but at the time only went about 30 ft realised my son got on the packed bus and thought I did 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I was sobbing as soon as I saw him on the back of the bus...he didn't have a clue what had happened 🤦‍♀️🤣 honestly worse moment ever x

Why have I just read this post now as my other is taking our son to Wembley at weekend for the football now im petrified he's going to get separated from on the tube 🙈

@cheflin good idea thats a chat for tomorrow. He's never been to London and we rarely ride the train up but going on the busy underground or train to Wembley during the FA cup final im now worried 🤦🏼‍♀️

@jimmycorner I don't blame you, I've only been on it once & I was so anxious about Everything! Hopefully everything will be fine but good to have a plan in place just in case. Also maybe put a wee note in his pocket or write on his arm his dad's mobile number x

Almost as bad as when you get split from hubby and youngest when you have 2 other children with you who start screaming when the doors close and leave them behind. That took a lot of calming down I can tell you!

This happened to me, after Disney at Wembley, back in the 90’s. I never forget it! 🥲 Some very kind people helped me get back to my home station. I even received a glass of pop & a tennis ball from the station conductor 😂

My older brother used to pretend it was our stop and jump in and out of the doors to wind me up until the inevitable happened the doors shut and I was on the train and he was on the platform.
Was always told if anything like that was to happen to get off the next stop and wait instead of trying to get one back myself.
Wasn't so funny after that 🙄🤣

Oh no. I've had nightmares about this. I drive now, but when I first met my partner, it was a long distance relationship, 3 trains away. I think that's why I have these fears. I did forget our suitcase once which was a disaster. So glad you had good people on side and your baby is safe ❤️xx
