A Mum's Worst Nightmare on the Tube: Lost Child and Grateful Thanks

@snowcity it’s a fear I’ve always had and have drummed into my kids if it ever happens get off at the next stop and stand by the wall…. But if the tube is mad busy we have been known to wait for the next one just in case

Happened to my 15 yr old daughter and i at xmas . She was left outside tube but it was me who panicked she just looked calm but the driver or someone must have seen her and opened the door again and she jumped on.. she said “ i why u worried , i would have just gone on next train” !
I cant imagine if she was 7 though!!

I once had this happen in front of me where the whole family went on except that little boy. We stayed with him until they came back to collect and the poor little one spoke no English. The fright that causes must be horrendous

I still remember my much older brother running and picking me up, putting me on the back of a moving old route master and then running and jumping on after me. It could have gone so wrong. My mum would probably still go mad if she found out.

This happened me. Not as bad though - I got on the train with my 2 when they were 2 and 4 and a buggy under my arm and realised on wrong train so went to get off and my eldest got off first and was on platform and doors closed trapping me and youngest and it started moving- thankfully I pressed a red button and it stopped - I’m still traumatised by trains - hope ur all ok xxx

Saw this happen this weekend with a husband and wife. Husband got left on the platform and just shrugged his shoulders. There just was not enough room for him to get in the carriage and then doors closed and off it went .

This happened to us a few years ago, my daughter got in the tube but I was left behind. Luckily it was only one stop but it is so worrying for everyone at the time.. thankfully someone looked after your daughter .xx

This seems to happen to my husband every time we go and the same in Paris I think he may do it on purpose now to get a bit of peace of quiet 😂😂😂

Omg, the exact same thing happened to us on the tube in London a few years back. I almost had a heart attack. It didn't help that when my youngest, in a panic, inside the train started doing some sort of frantic side to side running man thing and my older one is on the platform laughing and shouting "Look mum, she's break dancing". 🤣🤦‍♀️🤣 a wonderful Irish lady named Ruth got her off at the next stop, the underground staff were amazing but it was genuinely one of the most terrifying moments as you just can't predict what they will do when that train pulls away 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ thank goodness for good people ❤️
