A Mum's Worst Nightmare on the Tube: Lost Child and Grateful Thanks

Oh god, my brother got off the bus at the wrong stop once......however we were in Spain on holiday, poor kid had to chase the bus to the next stop as none of us knew how to stop the bus in Spanish lol this was in 1979 and he was 10 it was awful xx

We used to live in a massive Asian city. My children were drilled on what to do if I got on and they didn’t, if they got on and I didn’t… never happened but worried me constantly!

My shoe went on the train ahead of me once!! Had to hope my cousin picked it up for me while I stood on one foot waiting for the next train 😅🤣

I travel a lot in London and ill be honest this is my absolute worst nightmare. I hope you and your little one can get past it with a giggle in time. Only put the laughing emoji because of the way you described it and how it hit home for me personally. So hopefully no offence taken. Bless your hearts. Must have been utterly frightening at the time. I've always prepared mine what to do in this situation. London is a scary place but most people and staff on the tube are really lovely 🥰😇♥️

@holliepuckett this happened to us in London. We were separated from my Mum, we got off at the next stop, someone waited with us until Mum got the next tube. (We went on the London Eye)

My husband did this! He got on the tube with our 1yo leaving me and our 6&7 year olds behind. Good job I knew where we were going and we met up there but it was definitely a lesson to always keep hands on every child!

My biggest fear too! Every summer we went to London when the kids were little I’d tell them if that happened to get off at the next stop and wait. Luckily the tubes are very frequent. We live in Middle East and frankly never use public transport so they wouldn’t have been used to it

This almost happened to me and my.brother as kids. Luckily my mum ( @elvispelvis ) saw what was happening and slammed her suitcase between the doors before they shut so they opened again and she got on 😊

So so scary!
I don’t have many childhood memories BUT when i was 6, sister 4 and also a baby in a buggy we got on the underground and my mum looked up to see my 4 year old sister laughing at her through the pull down window of the next carriage.
She shouted at her to get off and get in our carriage!! Yup you guessed it the train pulled away leaving her on the platform 🫣🫣
I don’r really remember much after that i think a man pulled emergency stop 🛑
I’m glad your little is ok

Happened to to my son years ago on London. Transport police were down on the platform immediately. They waited til husband arrived back
