A Mum's Worst Nightmare on the Tube: Lost Child and Grateful Thanks

Gosh you poor thing I remember being little and living in London and watching it happen to another family on the tube. And it also happened to my mum once she left her bag on the train and we was at Gatwick going on holibobs, the doors closed and took her back to Victoria 🙈😂 we missed our flight and had to go the next morning lol, worst thing was the station guy had my mums bag on the platform 😅😅 trains haven’t been my favourite since!! I hope you’re at the very least having a long hot bubble bath with all the pampers and PEACE mama 😂😂. Xx

Omg!!! This is my biggest fear! I had to laugh at this post!! Because if you don’t laugh you’ll cry!! Even if I didn’t drink… (which I do 😳🤦🏻‍♀️, I’d deffo be drinking tonight!!) so scary as a parent!! Glad you had the best outcome!! Xx

I too have experienced this, abroad. If I learnt anything it was that my son is made of stronger stuff than I AND he has a very good memory for detail

Gives me shivers remembering the day I was the young leader in charge of three or four cub scouts on an outing to London. One of the little ******s kept hopping off the train and running along and getting in the next door. Never again!

Mine was the opposite. I was in Paris with my then 5 year old daughter. At our stop, the doors opened and people surged on. She dived off the train but I couldn't get through the people and the doors closed. I could see her on the platform! 2 guys hit the bell and tried to wrench the doors open and thankfully I was able to get off. Very scary! Thank goodness for the kindness of strangers sometimes.

I've had the opposite on the overground from London. My children got off at the station and doors closed before their grandmother can get off the train. Luckily my son knows my number and we gave them a sticky note with the number written on it in case they get lost. Thankfully they spoke to someone who called me. And their grandmother dashed for the train going in the opposite direction once it pulled into the next station.

I had this dream last week or should i say nightmare. It was horrible 😢. So sorry this actually happened to you. Hope you're both recovering from the shock. X

Omg so glad everything turned out well. When we went to London my son was terrified this would happen after a near miss and that was bad enough.
Hope your both ok x

Oh noooo how awful!
I remember my mum putting my younger brother who was in a pram at the time on the tube and before she could get on with me and my sister, the tube doors closed with my mums hand in it.
She ran down the platform with the train and it luckily stopped just before she got to the tunnel! 🥺

Omg yes my biggest fear as a parent!! This happened to my Aunt and 2 cousins in Paris years ago. It must be so frightening. I have it drummed into all of mine to just stay where they are until I come back for them.

My friend told me how she once got in a lift with doors both sides and her 3 year old kept walking straight through, her 7 year old was a bit slower and then both doors closed with her in the lift going up and one child either side of the lift! After a long haul flight! Luckily her oldest was smart enough to go round and find his little sister and they were both there when she got back down.
