A Mum's Worst Nightmare on the Tube: Lost Child and Grateful Thanks

Happened to us when we went to watch Man U v Brighton at Wembley not so long ago…first time on the tube too….frightening 😩

I can imagine this happening to me! With my child!! She is a nightmare for running off at not even 2 years old!

@bethanyjanel I have many sets, she is too big for them. I am trying to find some that are big enough for her. We have a rule that we have always had. When it is just one of us doing shopping she stays in the trolley and doesn’t come out! But if there are 2 of us one can hold her hand/ watch her like a hawk! While the other does the shopping.
My daughter weights about 15-20kg at 2 years old so if anyone has any that extend to that whilst having a coat on, please share!

Also to add she isn’t overweight at all as it may sound like that! Her fathers family’s body build is quite big, more muscle than fat tbh

@awman do the Little Tikes backpack style reins fit? We used these instead of traditional reins when ours were small (they preferred the bag as they could put a toy and snack inside). It was much easier to put on them too.

@anibudgie the straps are too tight, I have just looked on google, they claim to have some that fit a 10 year old so may have to try those! Hopefully I can find some that fit! My eldest is the complete opposite! Never ran off! Skinny as anything (takes after me!) my youngest is the complete opposite

@awman I don't have any nut they definitely exist as my little boy goes to school with a boy who comes in wearing reins every day. The boy is in y2 so 7 year old. So they definitely exist somewhere

@awman my baby has just turned 2 last week and 19kg, my partner came back with a fiver pair of black reins from Morrisons- nothing fancy just plain. I've used them since he could walk and they still fit him well now. I couldn't imagine walking with him without them, he would be running off every 2 minutes and tripping over. Xx

@phantomgaze so glad I’m not the only one with a big child haha!! I don’t have a Morrisons nearby but soon will when we move in august! I’ll ask if my family can have a look in my home town

@awman little life do (or used to do) different sized backpacks. Failing that, get a backpack that fits her and make your own strap, fitted to the top loop most backpacks have 🙂

Have you tried wrist straps? The inside of the strap is metal wire so they can't be cut and can be adjusted for wrist size and they're not east for a 2/3yo to undo.
We don't have this exact brand, just an example photo. They fit grown adults so no way your child will be too big for these. 🙂
