Planting in Gravely Soil of Raised Flower Bed – Do We Need to Remove Stones or Improve Soil? Plus, Best Summer Flowers Recommendations

Depends on the direction and the soil type on what will flourish. Have a look at your neighbours gardens facing the same direction and ask them what the plants are that you like the look of. That way you've got more chance of them not dying off

Be sure to get plants that don’t die every year. We’ve made that mistake. Start off with a few and read how to care for them (sun/shade - dry/wet) etc and see what what happens. Remember to feed them monthly in the summer! Enjoy. I love my garden. Xx

My advice would be to have a mixture of evergreen(look nice in the winter) and flowering plants that come back each year like alliums, phlox, lupins, peony's. Hebes are green all year and produce small flowers in the summer, have some spring bulbs like daffodils, snow drops, crocus, hyacinths and tulips which give your garden spring colour! Rhoderendrons are beautiful in early summer lavender always looks lovely and smells lovely in the summer! Here's some photos of my similar strip in my garden! The tall lollipop trees are flamingo willows they produce beautiful pink leaves/flowers. Good to have different heights of things too!

Ooh I love an blank canvas! Plants that are hardy will grow in that bed but what I’d recommend is buy a big bag of compost (please buy peat-free 🙌🏽) and when you’re planting, add a shovel full in and around the hole where the plant is going. The compost will add nutrients to your soil to feed your plants. Small stones shouldn’t be an issue. As for plants- is it a sunny border?
I would suggest perennials that come back year after year. Shout if you want any plant suggestions! Good luck! 🌱🌱🌱
