Important Holiday Tip: Set Up Tech Gifts Before Wrapping Them!

Last year I bought my children (then 3 and 4) a refurbished iPad mini each for Christmas from Wowcher, I set them up and downloaded a load of child friendly games, put parental locks in place and fully charged them then put a protective case on them and wrapped them like that so they could just open them and use them right away on Christmas morning. It took me hours though with all the updates and downloads so I’m glad I did it in advance!!

Similarly to games open them and put them in to update even brand new games have gigs of updates somehow 😂😂

Baaaaah, let them wait! It adds to the suspense!! I'm going to let my daughter's laptop update all it's system before i let her use it. Should be good to go new years eve I recon

I’ve just sat and set up our sons Amazon kids fire and charged it and now it’s wrapped ready to go when he opens it.

I did this with my little ones Tonie box glad I did as the blooming thing took nearly 40mins as I couldn't get it to connect to the internet 🤦🏼‍♀️

@godismyjoy mine was like this, I’m happy I managed to sort it before Christmas as it wasn’t connecting at all, so ended up having to get it replaced and then it took ages for the new one to finally connect 😅

Christmas 1991. I opened my brand new Sega Mega Drive and questioned why the Sonic cartridge was already inserted, "Oh, Santa must have been playing it" 😆

We do this with game consoles. But ipads and phones the kids can set them up themselves. All tablets and phones we have had have at least 50% charge.

Nah we don't agree with making it easy for them, if they wanna play the big kid games they can sit and watch the pissing thing update and install for hours like we do now when we want a new game 😂
