Experiences with MOHS Surgery for BCC: What to Expect and How to Prepare

Doesn’t have to be a mole either. I had a small spot for years that just wouldn’t heal. It was in side burn of my hair so not immediately available for the sun’s rays. I had it cut out..48 teeny stitches

@sharbodie you healed amazingly wow! I had a mole removed which is obviously a tiny procedure and my scar is horrific supposedly done by brightons top plastic surgeon 😳

@gamefish I used to add tamanu balm to it to reduce the scarring. I felt like Frankenstein’s monster but the doctor assured me when they took the stitches out it would heal well and he was right x

The GP gave you steroid cream !? 🤦‍♀️😕
Omg this is horrible...I have done my training a year ago and in my training I was taught that not all GPs are trained in recognising skin cancer ,including moles ,I was shocked to hear that ... but yes it has happened in few other cases to actually know for a fact that some GPs have no idea at all .
Someone I referred to see her dermatologist she actually went at her GP and they said oh yes your mole is really black... if you want we can leave it as it is or have it removed but it's totally your choice 🤦‍♀️🤐

My oh had a BCC removed from his nose using MOHS. They used some skin from between his eyebrows to graft over the scar. It was very sore at the start but healed pretty quickly. If I'm honest it has left quite a red scar but it's fading over time.
