Christmas Spending & the True Spirit of the Season 🎄

@beofgoodcheer oh yeah I’m stressed so off to the Maldives for a cheeky break on a Thursday 😂😂
When I stated the amount I spend and I don’t care about others and what they can afford which isn’t my fault I was the worse.. like I really don’t care about other parents or children tbh.. not my problem!
So many issues in the world that can’t be fixed but again not my issue - makes me sound harsh but it is what it is 😂

@mrfun83 like how many people follow the likes of the radford family / Stacey Solomon etx all these influencers with their nice houses - constant holidays and yet bitch about normal families buying a few Xmas presents for their kids
World is crazy 🤣

My fav comments are always like “ have you thought about spending time your children or experiences are more important “ lol what do people think people do buy their kids Xmas presents and then lock the kids in cupboard 🙈🤣

This year my 3 year old asked for a toy frog. Nothing else. Last year my 5 year old asked for oranges...(this year a pet pig...yeah no...)
The reality is a lot of parents try too hard to go above and beyond their means or to impress other parents, when really their kids would be happy with unwrapping the bloody oranges. 😂
It really is the magic of Christmas, being together and the fun and love we all have together that stands out and matters.

The only people it should matter to is the parents buying the gifts. I dont agree with going into huge debt for presents but that's just me:) but if u can fford it why not 🙂 I think I spend an in the middle amount per child, there will be people who have far more and also people who have far less, aslong as the kids are happy that's all that matters x

I don’t care what people spend on their kids but no one should be shaming others for not spending enough. I’ve seen that lately someone being told they’re not a good mum because they don’t spend loads at Xmas.

I have no idea how much I have spent in previous years as I can afford what I buy at the time. Things will be a bit tighter this year and that is also ok. 100s of presents isn't what it is all about. Kids barely even remember what they got the previous year. Spend what you can and just enjoy the time with family. The best gift last year was a trivia card game from a charity shop as we spent hours on end as a family with it.. I am tempted to rewrap gifts from last year also, as there are things that have been put away and forgotten about.

I don’t get what the point of posts like ‘how much do you spend on Xmas presents? It’s subjective, everyone has different incomes, different amounts of children etc, so knowing what somebody else spends is not useful!!

Some years I can afford to spoil my child, sometimes I can't. My child does not care. If you raise a child right then they won't care, they'll be happy and grateful for whatever they get.
