Christmas Spending & the True Spirit of the Season 🎄

100 per cent agreed doesn't matter how much you spend it is the thought that counts
We don't spend a lot on our children
Our children said the best thing they like about Christmas is my Christmas dinner

My boys are 18 and 20 now, I've never spent a lot at Christmas on them. We've always done hand made cards and gifts of time. Then added a few treats and smellies. If they wanted something big like an X box then as teenagers they'd cut neighbours lawns to save up part of the cost themselves. They've turned out to be very responsible with their money now.

Exactly this @mandah86!!!! 💕💕💕 im a single parent and over the yrs my budget has had to change massively x one thing i taught my children that San*a may bring the presents but mum still has to pay for them x also i made this game up yrs ago, we each pick 4-5 random crap round the house, hide it, go wrap and label it for each other, and xmas morning see what random stuff we got from each other 😂😂 costs nothing, is fun, and still an element of surprise there 😂😂 the kids love doing it! They are 13 and 16 now and still do it 😂😂😂

I see it as being very fortunate to even spend $50 on my kids. Some people have $0. I think we should normalise feeling fortunate with good health and being with loved ones and sharing a cuppa.

I blame social media for hyping everything up.
Matching pjs, Christmas Eve boxes, polar express to name just a few.
Enjoy the people around your tree not what’s under it.
