Weekend Evening Activities for Families: What Works for You?

As a family what do you do on weekend evenings?
Let's be honest, most people probably have sports clubs on the weekend mornings, birthday parties in the afternoons etc but I'm talking about every Friday and Saturday night.
I can't help but keep thinking that in my local area we really are missing a trick not having somewhere where you can do things with your kids that entertain everyone.
We have near special occasions kids discos or fundraising events like kids bingo etc..
My question is 1, what do you do to keep entertained and 2, is there anything near you that is open every weekend with the option of an activity that children and adults can do that isn't £50 a time like bowling or golf etc.

@whydontwe I'm an awful mum too then, we don't do much either. We're busy enough doing things we have to during the week, weekends mean we can do what we like together or apart (usually apart lol) watching TV, crafts, on our phones whatever we want.

Chill. Don't have to entertain every weekend family time at home is what they remember most. Pizza meal bottle of fizz packet of sweets and a film or a board game. Doesn't have to cost alot. Kids love your company

Don't do loads at the wknd to be fair. Movie nights, bite to eat at the local, sleepovers, paly dates, swimming but no real plans we just kinda wing it depending how we're all feeling after hectic week days x

Weekend evenings are for doing nothing 😅 sometimes we have people over for board games but that’s about it. Takeaway and tv/videos for us!

We do a little bit of everything like bowling, cinema or the older kids will go out with friends- but it’s not every weekend

Weekend evenings are for pizza night (film ) or to watch tv and Sunday night is for roast in front of the telly that’s been since I’ve had children and the oldest is 18, two other boys 16,11

Not alot. Friday tired from work then get up early for park run. Sunday we have football so chill late afternoon/evening. Occasionally will go to friends or will meet up with friends or family every so often x

We mainly just chill, we have clubs W,T,F (my oldest has cubs Friday until 7:30pm)
So Saturday night is usually chill with a film or a board game together etc 🤷
Sometimes we'll go for a meal, or have tea at a relatives house, but mainly we are home. We have been going for an autumn Sunday evening walk after Sunday roast if the weather is fair, take torches and have fun.
My kids at 6&8 and are outdoors kids, so are happy enough doing that really.
Occasionally we'll go bowling, or this time of year wander around looking at Xmas lights with a hot chocolate

Film night and board games night.
Sometimes late play at the park before tea in the summer and then it’s eat dinner, bit of tv and bedtime.
Kids also play/ we let them get bored and they soon find something to do.
Depends on the kids ages too 😊
Being at home and being with you is all they want. X

We usually watch quiz games on tv! My youngest loves them, catchphrase, picture slam, blankety blank ect

Friday is movie night and Saturday night if my partner and son isn't at the football we have a family day out and on the night we sometimes have family over for a meal or a takeaway and movie. ❣️. If just me n my daughter we watch TV or a Disney film.

Friday evening are for me and my husband, the kids go to bed and can go in their ipads or watch TV, they're tired after a long week at school anyway and me and my husband have time together watch a film, have a meal and a drink.
Saturday evening is a family film or game night.
There's nothing really for us to do as a family on an evening round here xx
