Ring Bought on Etsy Turns Out to Be Fake - Seller Refusing Refund, What Are My Options?

If the ring is a handmade ring, it will probably not be hallmarked. However, there is an acid test a jeweller can do to test if it is silver (925). Also, the test they have done on the stones is to see if they are diamonds, and other semi precious stone or even glass will give the same sound on a diamond tester and show you ot is not a diamond

@jordansa yes that's what I was saying.
A diamond or a Ruby or a sapphire etc are precious stones.
Other lab made stones or semi precious stones will not give them same sound on a diamond tester as they are not made up of the same materials. Moissanite is not a precious stone. It is a diamond made in a lab. So, the seller has sold you the stone as Moissanite and it most likely is moissanite. When a jeweler tests it on a diamond machine it will not beep like a diamond is supposed to. That's why he's saying it's not real. He probably thinks that you think this is a diamond

The ring was only £80 at the time you say you bought it. I think that tells me I’m not getting top quality if that makes sense. For real stones and silver I’d be looking at a few hundred pounds at least to warrant it being real. Sorry for your distress over it all though, it’s a beautiful ring if it’s the design you need to match the engagement ring then keep it. Sentiment is over cost x

I agree that you were falsely sold the ring according to the description but £80 for 8/10 diamonds and 8/10 ruby’s on a solid silver ring! That screams fake from a mile off to me 😬 go to any jewellers and you would struggle to find a solid silver ring for £80 never mind that amount of diamonds and rubys! 😬
