How to Deal with Tailgaters Using Your Kids' Help – A Fun Trick That Works Every Time!

I had someone tailgate me in a school zone ( 40km in Australia) because I didn't overtake a cyclist when it was dangerous, I knew my turn off was coming up and there is a gate just before I turn off so I didn't indicate till I was turning off, he almost went into me but because he was right on my arse he couldn't get past me so a load of traffic and the cyclist went past him. I have also had it on a road were I know there is a mobil speed trap ( in Australia they don't warn you and it's an unmarked car) so I'll be doing the limit but they tailgating me and flashing thier lights etc and just before I know were the trap is I start to slow down a little to piss them off so they overtake me and put foot right into the trap.

Genius idea. I have a 9 year old so may get him to turn and stare. I also have a 8 month old baby with baby in board stickers and tail gaters do my head in. I was always taught to be safely behind a car you need to see tarmac AND tyres. I also do the correct speed limit in the correct area. I just want to get my family there safely and refuse to speed.

@cajunpita bingo! And as you can't just rely on the one in front. Plenty of tarmac and tyres while in motion. I also got taught treat everyone else on the road as if they dont know what their doing. Always be ready for the unexpected. I've been driving nearly 20 years with a clean license. I'd like to think I'm doing well. 🤣

I do a break check, just a really light tap on the breaks and they shit themselves and back off, or I just slow down a little.

I always set my cruise control speed at the speed limit for the road so I stay out of trouble, so I’m not going faster than that. Whenever someone decides to drive up to my bumper I just slowly slow down, they’ll overtake and then I go back up to my original speed. People like that have less patience than me.

Is it just me or is it always the Audi’s and BMW’s? It’s like speeding, tailgating and not using your indicators are a requirement for owning one! 😂

@zookajoe hahahaha lmfao! My was then 12 year old once did the same, when a man wound his window down and kicked off at me for putting a hand up in a questioning gesture when he barged up through when I had right of way! She didn't even try to hide it. 🤣🤣🤣🙊🙊🙊

This doesn’t work as we do it too! I’ve even turned round and pretended to take a photo of them from the passenger seat if my husband is driving. To annoy them even more I slow down to just under the speed limit 😂. If you’re driving like an arsehole especially when there are clearly children in the car in front then chances are you just don’t give a shit 🙄🤬
