Experiences with MOHS Surgery for BCC: What to Expect and How to Prepare

The image is labeled ‘typical’ presentation and that they are on both skin types. The main stay of information given of non healing, bleeding, itching lesion with changes of colour/pigmentation, evolving, irregular border, asymmetry are exactly the same for every skin colour. Sure it would be helpful to have some more pigmented BCC’s on there and a photo of darker skin to compare but the basic information is the same.

I currently on target treatment and reconstruction for a breast due to me having skin cancer in my lymph nodes didn't even no until my covid injection made my lymph nodes swell..its not just about checking moles ext because I never knew I had it in my lymph nodes unless I hadn't had the injection,they think it was from my hand 11 years ago,I got told the wrong diagnosis they treated me for breast cancer 6 month of intensive chemotherapy lost my hair was awful,pathology report came back melanoma skin cancer ...I'm 1 year cancer free on the 31st May

I have a very similar mole under my eye. I was referred to dermatology in March. Appointment won't be until October! I'm bit worried now🤔
 
@jdmsn sorry if I worried you, but better know and take action rather then be too late!
I know waiting doesn't help at all, I've waited for months and I become more anxious the closer I get to surgery 😬🙈
On the other hand I try to stay positive and say to myself 'it's not that urgent, so în a twisted way must be a good thing, right?'😆

@jennymorgan not at all. Thank you for posting. I've decided I'm going to chase up with the GP on Monday morning cos the mole is itchy and keeps bleeding. Good luck with your surgery. I'm sure you will be fine. Caught early things usually have good outcomes xxx
 
I have to have surgery to remove my bcc from the top of my scalp, 3-6 months. It's 3mm, but need to go 4mm outside of it and have said given the lack of excess skin they need to do a few extra cuts to help bring the skin in. I'm certainly not looking forward to the procedure......after having the punch biopsy taken with a local it wasn't a pleasant experience, this will be a other level of anxiety.
 
My daughter has a mole on her nose. We went to the doctor. Asked them to remove it, he sss add I’d no because of where it it too close to the eye. Will go back when she’s older
 
i had a bcc removed from my forehead recently .the surgery was fine.the injection was stingy but after that painless.my scar is tiny .if you look on tiktok there are many videos on bcc that might put your mind at rest x
