I already a local library member, so I'm starting at the library.
Thank you again.x
I wanting recommendations so I can listen to audiobook whilst on the beach....
I'm not tech savvy,
Do I need a kindle?
Can I use my mobile?
Do I need a subscription?
Thank you in advance for your help.x

There are a lot of free podcasts and audiobooks on Spotify. No subscription needed, you just have to put up with the occasional advert.

audible, you’ll get a free book for signing up. Spotify premium will give you 15hrs audiobook listening a month. Use both on a beach through my mobile

I use borrow box it’s a free service provided by the Library, worth checking if you are a member of your local library. Can listen on phone or iPad.

The podcasts app on the iPhone has some audio books. My kids love Stephen Fry reading Harry Potter for instance and I’m currently enjoying the reacher series. All for free.

Try your local library. They should have a subscription for ebooks / eaudio for customers & you may be able to join your library online too...

Definitely check the website of your local library most have access to an app for your phone like Borrowbox or Libby or similar for free and there will be instructions. If you use this it’s great for trying different style books so you can see which type you like.
Spotify have 15 hours free with Spotify premium / family.

Libby from local library. Completely free, lots of books and magazines on there. No need to pay for any audio books 🙂

I use audible a lot. Also BBC sounds has some brilliant book series & plays that are all free & you can download onto your phone. I fall asleep if ever I get the opportunity to read, so audible has meant I still hear stories. Your family can buy you gift vouchers too.

I use audible on my phone with a subscription but you can also get free audio books on YouTube and Spotify. You might have to listen to ads as well though.

@feintecho I love borrow box. I’m not fussy about what I listen to so I reserve popular books and just pick books I wouldn’t have thought of and end up really enjoying them
