A Mum's Worst Nightmare on the Tube: Lost Child and Grateful Thanks

This happened to me on a bus in London (I was born and lived in London until I was 14) when I was kid (5). My mum got off the bus and I was behind her but the doors shut. A women held my hand until the next bus stop and walked me back to my mum who had already started walking towards the next bus stop.

I did it as an adult 😏 last train from Waterloo after a gig in Brixton…train started beeping and my friends were faster than me and sprinting half way down the train. I just got on with the intention of walking down the train to catch up. Doors close, train starts moving…friends are stood on the platform as they thought I hadn’t got on 🤦🏼‍♀️ to make matters worse my money and phone were in my friends pocket as we had been in the mosh pit and he had zips 😬

OMG!! That's exactly what happened to us and our daughter 30 years ago. The memory will live with me as her mum forever! Really thought I'd lost her!

@zanbatoux that time you got on the train at Corby putting the bags on , next thing train was leaving platform.. me & jack left ourselfs. All the trains redirected to get us back to you 😂🙈

That happened to me on the bus when I was a child. I got off and my dad hadn't because he was getting my buggy and the driver drove off! I screamed my little head off 😭

I did this on a tram but it was me who ended up on the tram.
Luckily kids were on platform with my other half but he'd got my bag with phone in so I. Just had to hope they'd find me 😂😂

That happened to me the other year.luckily they were both adult but I still panicked because we didn't know what stop to get off at

We had similar situation where we had missed our train with allocated seats from Scotland to Bristol. It was an arranged group camping trip and the coach driver was late picking us up from camp. So we decided as a group and told all the kids who were ages ranging from 6-14 that when the next train got in which was ours that they were to just to get on it and we would find them. This train was an absolutely packed commuter train. So us and another family chanced getting on and luckily so did the kids but we lost each other as we got on and it took a frantic 5 mins of our hearts thumping like mad before we all got together. We had to keep swapping seats all the way but got home tea time ish. Unfortunately, 2 other families didn't get on and got back to Bristol midnight ish. That was about 15 years ago and my daughter still remembers it vividly.

This happened to my mum with my sisters, she was screaming "I've left my kids on the platform!!" in sheer panic. Funny thing was though they was in their 20s 🤣😂 Never fails to make me laugh. Glad you're all okay ❤️
