Recording Swimming for GCSE PE - Solutions and Alternatives

Do you need actual filming or just record of what he has swam?
Could you get a smart watch that records activities. I have a Garmin watch and you can record swimming walking etc then download as evidence. My son did walking for his DofE and recorded it using Strava

A pool would not allow you to film, especially if there were other people using it. My advice would be maybe find a local swimming club who may allow you to quickly use part of their pool time. I am in Scotland so maybe slightly different, I am a head coach and alway film my swimmers at competitions but if someone came to me and asked I would happily give them the small amount of time needed to film.

@igivemylife2jesus as I said it may be different as I am in Scotland, filming is not allowed unless a photography form from Scottish Swimming is filled in and at that no other members of the public are allowed to be there unless the also consent. I would also imagine hotel pools and other private pools would be different.

We have a few private pools locally that don’t cost too much at all. I’m sure there’s a way to get some video of him doing what he loves!

Does the swim at a club and compete ? Lots of our swimmers have used races filmed or we’ve done pretend races after everyone except a few who’ve volunteered to be recorded have left .
