Microwave Disaster: Lemon and Baking Soda Explosion – How to Get Rid of the Burnt Smell?

Put a cut up lemon in a bowl of water on for 5 min and clean it.
Then leave a bicarb in overnight.
Even a slice of fresh bread is good for neutralising smells…

@darrelelliott you put them in the microwave and fill them up with water and vinegar (but guess you can use any cleaning product you prefer) then set it off for the stated time. The water gets hot and then explodes out of her head, and gets all grime and grease to come off easier when you wipe.

My daughter sang me a great song she wrote herself when she was 7
‘Don’t put metal in the microwave’ ‘Don’t put metal in the microwave’ ‘if you do. It will blow up on you’ ‘SO! don’t put metal in the microwave!’
She stood on a stall to sing it, then said ‘mummy this song is based on true life events 😉

Not being funny but should you be using it after an explosion in there? There may be debris inside it that could damage its effectiveness. The fumes alone will have got into its vents which is probably why it smells when you now use it. Might be harmful.
