BLOOMINGTON NORTH 12-3, LAWRENCE NORTH 0-7: Brady Leonard (4 IP) and Jake Flynn were dominant in the opener, combining on the six-hit shutout. North (4-1) had 14 hits and stole 10 bases as Luke Freel went 4-for-4 and Elio Miller was 3-for-5 with three RBI and three steals. Drew Wagner drove in three. The Cougars gave one away to suffer their first loss of the season with three errors leading to six unearned runs off starter Bohdi Pulley in the first two innings. North pitchers struck out 10 and gave up just four hits. Chris Barnett was 2-for-3.

Keagan Palileo was 2-for-4 with two doubles while Luke Arnett and Jake McCammon each had two hits. Reid Walker (5.1 IP) and Connor Osborne combined to fan seven and walk nine.

LINTON 10, EASTERN GREENE 9 (8 inn): Tyson Walker singled in the game winner for the Miners (3-2, 1-0). Eastern (2-1, 0-1) trailed 7-2 after five before rallying to get within 7-6. Linton scored twice in the top of the seventh only to see the T-Birds tally three. Jacob Bellman was 3-for-4 while Jack Rees drove in three.

BLOOMINGTON SOUTH 16, SHAKAMAK 4 (5 inn): Panthers (2-1) hit three homers in the blowout as Abby Purtlebaugh (four RBI), Bella Simmons (three RBI) and Aminah Saahir (two RBI) went yard. Brilee McGlothlin went three innings, giving up just one hit and one run and fanning eight. Boxscore at MaxPreps.

EDGEWOOD 1, ROBINSON (Ill.) 0: Edgewood scored the game's lone run in the first as Maroon's star Eva Herman struck out 13. The Mustangs had five hits, Robinson seven.
EDGEWOOD 3, TERRE HAUTE NORTH 2: Mustangs (5-1) come up with the winning run in the top of the seventh. Ally Bland struck out eight, Olivia McPherson was 2-for-4 with a homer and a double and Brylee Moore was 2-for-3. Boxscores at MaxPreps.
TERRE HAUTE NORTH 12, OWEN VALLEY 11: OV (3-2) trailed 12-8 after five and posted a three-run sixth but that was it as Mallory Templin took the loss. Makynlee Bonds was 2-for-4 with two RBI and scoring three runs. Lucy Dyer was 2-for-5 with two RBI and Kalyn Greene stole two bases.

TRI-STATE SHOWCASE (at Princeton): Non-scored meet. Eastern Greene saw Lilyanna Blais break the school record in the 800 with a 2:24.70 for second and win the 1,600 with a 5:16.76 that is just .6 off the school record and set the meet record. Esther Crane was second in the 3,200 (11:37.55) and fourth in the 1,600 in 5:34.95. Freshman Bella Simmons' clutch single tied the game before Carly Reed had the game winning double. Reed and Sloane Barrett were each 2-for-3 with an RBI. Freshman Rachel Johnson got the win. Chris Barnett was 4-for-4 for the second game in a row at leadoff while the bottom of the order, Zach Sipes, Will Breedlove and Conor Steele drove in six runs.

BLOOMINGTON SOUTH d. BEDFORD NORTH LAWRENCE: Panthers and Stars planned to go 18 at Otis Park with a shotgun start but only go through nine before weather ended the day. South was declared the winner by lowest total in relation to par, plus-seven to plus-15. Colton Watson, Carson Gady and Aidan Bomba were all +1 and Owen Wisley was +4.
INDIAN CREEK 161, OWEN VALLEY 177, SOUTH PUTAM 202: Patriots' home match at Rolling Meadows was cut short by weather.

BLOOMINGTON SOUTH d. TERRE HAUTE SOUTH 25-16, 25-9, 25-18: Panthers (1-1, 1-0 CI) get program's first win in just their second game and in the home and conference opener to boot. Setter John Ward had 17 assists and five aces and had an 11-point service run to take charge of the second set.

EDGEWOOD 156, MITCHELL 252: Mustangs win at Cascades: Teigan Hulbert 37, Hank Ripley 38, Zayne Dwigans 39, Ike Wilkie 42.

OWEN VALLEY 10, SOUTHMONT 5: Owen Valley (3-0) trailed 5-3 after four innings but hit double figures for the third straight time and got a huge game from sophomore pitcher Haley Amador, who walked six and struck out eight in the circle and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and five RBI at the plate. EDGEWOOD 10, BLOOMINGTON SOUTH 3: Brylee Moore had a three-run homer and Ella Sproul hit a two-run shot to power the Mustangs (2-0), who had six extra-base hits to complete a sweep of their county rivals to start the season. Addison Yearby and Ally Bland each had two hits as well. Bland had 10 strikeouts in the win. Sloane Barrett was 2-for-4 and Carly Reed had a two-run double for South in its season opener.
